my biography

Mindmovie has been playing in various bands for about 35 years. He started out as a guitarist, and still loves this instrument for all it has to offer. Yet time never stops, and much has changed since Mindmovie laid hands on his first second-hand six-string. Today, his main focus is more on the production and composition of all kinds of electronic, pop and rock music, and the sounds of his guitar have become just one ingredient to be added to a new tune, albeit a very special one. Apart from his work as a composer, Mindmovie is currently involved in two band projects, the first of which is Flaming Bess, a progressive rock band founded in the late 70s. So far, they have released five albums:

Tanz der Götter (1979),

Verlorene Welt (1981),

Fata Morgana (1996),

Black Sun (2005), and their latest effort,

Wächter des Lichts (2008).

Mindmovie’s second project is called Wi:Re. Here, he is free to experiment and juggle with electronic beats, hip hop, funk and jazz which add up to an exciting and fun mix. The main songwriters of Wi:Re are Mindmovie himself and Claas Reimer, who is also part of the My Space community. An album has yet to be released.

Title: Theme For An Imaginary Mindmovie: Enrolled in contest: Micro-Phones (vote for me!); Description: In fact this theme is the end theme of the last Flaming Bess record ... so a good first track of my upcoming first Solo record... but in a much longer version. Sorry for the audio quality but as the song is about 8 minutes we need to go down with the bitrate to 160kb. But at least I know how it will sound once it's on the new album.

This song is about such feelings and it features a beautiful and very talented female singer. Her Name is Sara England and you should check her profile here on MI7.
Title: Planet Passion IV (collab. with Andres Rexach): Enrolled in contest: Micro-Phones (vote for me!); Description: Wow - what a nice coincidents that I found this faboulous sitar & guitar player on myspace and that he added these fine ingrediences to my song Planet Passion IV. Watch out for this man he will be the next guitar hero !!! Please consider this still as a rough mix. Thanks and big hugs to Andres
Title: A Space based Utopia (revisited 2008): Description: added some guitars and bass to the original remix I did using samples of DJ RKod. It's now probably more a rock song than it was previously but I always felt that something was missing ? so here we go again - hope you will like the new version and thanks again to DJ Rkod for allowing me to use his samples !

Don't worry about the 160kbps. It still sounds better than most other stuff around. And the most important thing is that the quality of the songwriting comes across, which it does.

A great idea to connect the latest FB record with your solo album in this way. It gives a nice continuity.

Anyway, quality stuff as always and a real pleasure to listen to.
