POP: A song from Mr. Woods and I from way, way, way back. Though it sounds extremely dated (can't you just tell from those drum/arp key sounds—'80's, anybody?), still like the exuberant quality of the track and am thinking about updating it in some fashion. The sax at the end HAS to go, though 8—) rt

POP ©2008 Collaboration with MINDMOVIE (Mr. Ambassador/TheFutureDude http://community.mi7.com/profile/5503), based on a Woods/Quinn (MonAmi http://community.mi7.com/profile/9373) composition from eons ago. This track was languishing in the mire of The "Gone and Never to be Un-Forgotten" Song Slush Pile, however, that was before Mr. M got his hands on it. I have to say that apart from one or two guitar suggestions on the part of Laurence Whiteley, Mindmovie was the musical architect of this song. Everything ‘cept the whistling and vocals are his concept. I am an admirer of his production and musical skills, guitar playing, patience, complete professionalism, engineer’s ears, oh yeah and apart from all that, he’s a great guy, too. More than once he brought me to my senses when I was freaking out over some technical issue. I learned a lot working with TheFutureDude. Thank you, M. Big Hugs. Love those grooves, dude

WHEREVER YOU GO

©2008 A Pop Song. First of the new stuff. A Woods/Quinn (MonAmi) collaboration with a few bluesy touches from guitar maestro, Laurence Whiteley. David (Woods), who lives on the south coast of England, sent me (in LA) a backing track in the late summer of 2007. It was in such bad quality, I felt like it had been left in the rain for 3 months and then in the sun to dry. Even in this reprehensible state the basic song was "Catchy as F**k" ... I just had to put my two cents in. So, David sent me all the composit audio files with instructions. I, of course, ignored them all and went with what I wanted—"Erhh, It's All About Me!" 8—), embellished a few parts, added the vocals ... and thought, "Hmmm, something is missing." So I called up my lifelong pal, Laurence Whiteley, who's a dab hand on the electric guitar and asked him to send me a few licks. Laurence, being a creative and magnanimous soul, sent me 9 hours (Yes ... that would be, NINE) of guitar. I distilled it all down to 30 seconds of stuff I could use, and threw away the rest! It's OK, though, he still loves me, and I am eternally grateful to him for his selfless creative gifts. Let me know what you think, dear Mi7 artists. RTQ
